At a doughnut stop

I was excited. We had finally gotten doughnuts and it had been months since I had one. We walked back to parking lot. "Smiley dentist" the sign read but, in the dark light of the street lamp, it wasn't so smiliey now. My mother started to panic. "Our car is gone," She said. We looked around the small parking lot even though we knew it wouldn't help. Some one approached us. He had a red tee shirt on and a few tattoos. I stood silent. "Did you park at the dentist?" He asked seeing my mom's worried face.

"Yeah" my Mom responded. He talk about how they tow but, that he had made the same mistake himself. He offered us a ride and my Mom accepted. The thought of doughnuts no longer lingered in my mind. I was only afraid. As we got into his car my Mom thanked him multiple times and I sat in the middle. Eventually we arrived to a large paved yard surrounded by a tall metal fence.
