I, like most teenagers online at an age they shouldn't be, had a large friend-group of teens of mixed age. They were my best friends, and I loved them. I talked every day with them, and I introduced my IRL best friend to them. Things were great for over a year. There was one person in the group though, Molk, a 16+ year old (When I was 12.) who was very rude and passive aggressive to me. I didn't know how to pick up the signs, so I didn't call him out on it. He was very close to my best online friend, Clovis. It made me jealous. Clovis always took his side and made me feel left out. One day, I made a joke about a ship between two fictional characters. There wasn't anything I thought was morally questionable about it, I was a very tame teen. It was two adults, not based on anyone real, single, and not aroace. But I was attacked for it by the group, specifically Molk and Clovis. I was banned. This was a few days before my birthday as well. Clovis then messaged me, revealing how for almost a year, everyone had been talking about how annoying I was behind their back. Apparently, nobody from the group liked me. When I told my IRL friend about this, who had gotten close with Clovis, he never defended me. I felt betrayed. I never talked to them again, and my relationship with my IRL friend faltered.
