Mowing the Lawn

It was summertime and school had already ended, basically just vacation until next fall. The whole day was mine, an eternal weekend that lasted for months with small tasks to do in between. My mother asked me to mow the lawn that day, and I felt like I had all the time in the world. Despite that feeling, or rather in accordance with it, I spent the whole day doing what I wanted to, knowing I could put off mowing until later in the day; plus, by the time I even considered mowing it was noon and was too sunny and hot to do it, so why not put it off until the late afternoon. Well, that time too came and went, and I did mow the lawn eventually, but only by the due time of my mother coming home and knowing just like I do now, how gluttonous my day inside was.
