In my parish

I was always one for rules. Since I was a child. Rules are created for a reason, and all we have to do is follow them. My parents raised me to obey my superiors: themselves, my teachers, etc. I relied on the rules to calculate others' behaviors. Structure is crucial to maintaining society.

One day, my skepticism of my superior hit a point where I could not continue working with him. Skepticism protects us from people who don't follow the rules. My fellow Sister of my parish had evidence that her student was with our priest, my superior, and came back to her class with alcohol on his breath. Because I had previous evidence against him, I decided to pursue him for misconduct. Of course, he was defensive and the boy was shameful, so it was difficult to be certain. All I want to do is protect my students from harm in God's service, but in doing that I must take a step away from him to pursue justice.
