My boyfriend was being framed by his ex girlfriend for a lie. We had to take out a loan for a famous lawyer in order to get him out of this pile of lies his abuser had spun. There was so much vengeance involved. Partly because our exes cheated on us with each other, and when the ex girlfriend found out who her ex boyfriend was seeing months later, she framed him for a ginormous lie. All of the evil that I have seen broke my reality and spirit, and the failure of the justice system to look at evidence broke any faith I had in government officials. The girl's father is a police officer where we all grew up with a high ranking, and it was like a battle of good and evil at the time. She was so angry and jealous that my current boyfriend was not her slave and worshipper anymore, and that she couldn't date my current boyfriend and my ex boyfriend at once. At the first court appearance, our lawyer was so in control and the ex girlfriend made herself look like a fool. All of the pain of being stalked and framed and ignored by police because of corruption felt like it was going to be worth it. We drove away that day with a sense of victory. But there was something in the back of my mind that told me it wasn't going to last, and I was right.
